HOW TO REDUCE YOUR BOREDOM DURING THIS LOCKDO
What do I do during this lockdown?
I know everyone is so worried that the holiday is getting too long, me too…
Well….why don’t you think of it as a blessing in disguise?
Think about it, you go to school approximately 200 days in 365days of a year. You are then left with about 100+ days for personal use. The remaining days clustered with vacations, outings and events may not even be enough to invest in your personal life.
Now the pandemic is actually making it possible for you to have more time on your hands. Don’t you think it’s time to do something different?
I know a lot of teens are feeling bored and tired of this holiday but there are a lot of things you can do to alleviate you boredom and develop yourself too.
I’ll suggest a few of them:
• Learn a new skill:
Why is it important to learn a skill?
Gone are the days the world was ruled by certificates, skills are what matters the most now. It very important to have acquire a skill or more in the world today.
There are lots of them; it could be sewing, hair-dressing, make-up classes, cooking and baking lessons, learning a new trade. There are others you can learn online; learning a new language, signing up for coding and programming classes, graphics designing classes, learning how to cook international dishes, there are a lot of them. You may not fully understand the advantage but I assure you it will be really beneficial someday.
• Develop yourself:
This is the best time to invest time into yourself and bring out the best you can be:
Try any of these out and see which will benefit you the most.
a) Reading (it doesn’t really have to be educational books): It could be self-development books, books building great relationships, or any other book you find intriguing. It’s been proven that success and reading are greatly associated.
b) Developing good listening skills
c) Public speaking skills (for the shy ones)
d) Building your self-confidence
e) Writing (for the creative ones)
f) Strengthening your relationship with your Creator
g) Developing good financial skills and lots more.
. Discover your potential:
I put it to you that there are a lot of teens who haven’t been able to discover their potential. Most think they actually have when they haven’t. This is time to look into your life and find that one activity or skill you are happy doing and wouldn’t mind doing everyday for the rest of your life and invest in it.
This is the best time because when everything is back to normal, you may not really have the time to do this.
Well….if you think you aren’t good at anything, then look deep into yourself and find that activity you are good at and invest time in developing it for the better.
• Invest in your body:
This is time to take good care of your body. You won’t really get enough time to do this efficiently when school is on. If you haven’t started working out yet, this is the time to start, it doesn’t have to be done every day but you have to be consistent in which ever routine you choose. There are fitness apps you can download that help too if you are unable to do it in the gym.
Workouts are great ways to increase circulation process and speed up metabolism rate.
Stretches and Yoga are also way great way to exercise your body.
Devote much time to taking care of your body on a daily routine.
• Sell your services online:
If you are very good at something, it could be a skill that you do well. You can use the social media to tell people what you do and sell your services. This brings you customers and money into your account.
You don’t have to waste the whole day on social media. Try something different and see how it goes. I hope this helps a lot, please practice and share with your friends too.
